TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad

Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and escort you to the Hill View Hotel or a comparable boutique retreat for your first night in Pakistan. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy optional experiences such as a gentle walk in the Margalla Hills or a curated dinner reservation—designed to help you settle in with comfort and style. Overnight stay at Hill View Hotel, Islamabad.

Your introduction to Islamabad begins with a morning pick-up and a guided visit to the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum, where Pakistan’s vibrant folk traditions and crafts are beautifully showcased. Continue to the Pakistan Monument Museum, a striking tribute to the nation’s formation, before a midday stop at Laluna Concepts, an elegant studio where regional gemstones are transformed into contemporary art—with the option of a Q&A over coffee or lunch. In the afternoon, wander the charming lanes of Saidpur Village and admire the architectural splendour of the Faisal Mosque, then conclude the day at Daman-e-Koh, where sweeping views of the capital unfold at sunset.

Upon landing at Skardu Airport, nestled in the heart of the Karakoram, you will be warmly welcomed by our local team and transferred to your hotel. After time to rest and refresh from your journey, set out to visit Kharpocho Fort—a centuries‑old fortress perched high above Skardu, commanding sweeping views of the Indus River and the town below. As evening falls, the remainder of the day is yours to relax and settle in ahead of the adventure to come.

Depart early for a full‑day journey across the mountainous terrain of Gilgit‑Baltistan, tracing the course of the mighty Indus River as it winds through dramatic valleys and rugged peaks. After 8–10 hours of travel, arrive in the serene village of Minapin, nestled near the Nagar Valley—a quiet hamlet framed by fruit orchards and the icy flanks of Rakaposhi. Check in to a traditional guesthouse, where a warm meal and restful night await in this tranquil setting.

Today is a relaxed day of acclimatisation, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude before the trek begins. Take time to explore Minapin’s peaceful surroundings—wander through terraced fields, meet friendly locals, and enjoy sweeping views of Rakaposhi and Diran. In the afternoon, your guide will conduct a final gear check and briefing to ensure you are well prepared for the days ahead.

The trek begins with a gentle three‑hour walk from Minapin to the Hapakun campsite. The trail rises steadily through alpine forest and grassy meadows, with the looming mass of Rakaposhi gradually dominating the horizon. Upon arrival at Hapakun, your tents will be set up in a tranquil clearing surrounded by pine trees and open sky. Dinner, freshly prepared by the trekking crew, awaits as you spend the night under canvas, immersed in the stillness of the mountains.

After breakfast, continue your ascent toward Rakaposhi Base Camp, also known as Tagaphari. The two‑ to three‑hour route opens into dramatic alpine scenery—rolling pastures, ancient moraines, and sweeping glaciers. As you approach camp, the full scale of Rakaposhi (7,788m) reveals itself in all its splendour, dominating the horizon. Your tents will be pitched in a wide grassy basin with uninterrupted views of the peak, and the evening is spent gathered around a warm meal at the foot of the giants.

Retrace your steps as you descend from Tagaphari to Minapin over the course of four to five hours. Take time to appreciate the ever‑changing perspectives on the landscape, with shifting views of peaks, glaciers, and valleys accompanying your return. Upon arrival in the village, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you onward to Gilgit city, where you’ll check in to a comfortable hotel and enjoy a well‑earned rest after the trek.

Depart Gilgit after breakfast for the return journey to Skardu, travelling by road through the dramatic landscapes of Gilgit‑Baltistan. En route, enjoy a scenic detour to the twin Kachura Lakes. Pause at the famed Shangrila Resort (Lower Kachura Lake), before continuing to the more secluded Upper Kachura Lake, where crystal‑clear waters mirror the surrounding mountains. After a leisurely afternoon by the lakeside, return to Skardu and settle into a premium hotel for the night.

Today’s excursion takes you by jeep to the legendary Deosai Plateau—an immense high‑altitude wilderness rising over 4,000 metres above sea level. Carpeted with wildflowers and encircled by snow‑dusted peaks, Deosai remains one of the world’s most untouched natural reserves. At its heart lies Sheosar Lake, a sapphire‑blue alpine jewel reflecting the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you may encounter wildlife such as golden marmots or, with luck, the elusive Himalayan bear. After exploring this majestic expanse, return to Skardu for a final night of comfort at your hotel.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Skardu Airport for your return flight to Islamabad. As you board the plane, carry with you memories of glacier‑carved valleys, warm village hospitality, and the silent majesty of the high mountains.

Note: Depending on your flight schedule, accommodation in Islamabad will be arranged if required.
